Triangle of Sadness

One of my favorite films of the last five years! Also an example of the scope, scale, and artistic freedom that an independently financed movie can have. Ruben Ostlund had already been on my list for Force Majeure, and this film captures the director's same razor sharp satire, but with a broader cast of memorable characters and some pretty surprising plot points. Zlatko Buric (you'll recognize him from Superman) playing a manure salesman is just one of those performances that never leaves your mind -- so absurd and so painfully realistic at the same time. Woody Harrelson's presence in the film is also a delight, and a rare example of how an A-lister can enhance a film without all that much screentime. If you like weird, you'll love this one.
