Indie Gems ("we," "us," or "our") knows you care about how your personal information is used and shared. As a platform dedicated to independent artists, we take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is used solely to operate and improve the Indie Gems platform.

When you create an account or sign up, we collect:

When you use Indie Gems, we automatically collect:

• Basic usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interactions with the platform

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and improve the Indie Gems platform
• Send you occasional emails, including film recommendations, community updates, and platform announcements
• Analyze how people use the site so we can make it better

Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers for essential functions such as hosting, authentication, analytics, and email delivery. These services process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and data-processing agreements. We do not share your personal information with these providers beyond what is necessary to operate the platform, and none of your data is sold or used for advertising by any party.

Google Contacts Data

Indie Gems allows you to import contacts from your Google account to send film recommendations to friends. When you choose to use this feature, we request read-only access to your Google Contacts (names and email addresses) solely to let you select recipients for your recommendation. We do not store, retain, or build a database from your Google Contacts data. Contact information is used only during the active session to send the recommendation you initiate.

Indie Gems' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke Indie Gems' access to your Google Contacts at any time through your Google Account permissions.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels from ad networks.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

Your Rights

You can:

• Access, update, or delete your account information at any time through your profile settings
• Unsubscribe from our emails using the link at the bottom of any email
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing us
• Request deletion of your data by emailing us

Children's Privacy

Indie Gems is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of Indie Gems after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
