An incredible production documenting one of the most significant events in human history. Beautiful cinematography from the original 70mm footage (hats off to NASA for capturing the moment so well), the most elegant, minimalist sound design I've ever heard (especially the heartbeat around launch), brilliant editing and no narration, just original mission control audio and a few appropriate moments of Walter Cronkite, who has become synonymous with the event. It also provides a wonderful representation of the time period with shots of the crowds, the menu in the cafeteria and the music. This movie is a true artistic achievement, a profound approach to documentary filmmaking, and fully worthy of the subject.
